It is very difficult to see someone you love suffer from BDD or another body image related problem. It can be particularly challenging when the person does not acknowledge that they have a problem or need help.

It is important that carers or family members also access support for themselves, either via the various support groups or self help resources available, or through having their own therapy sessions.
